Reads

At Borders bookstore the other day, I was looking for books by Dan Brown for my brother and this book jumped off the shelf at me, it really did...well it fell, so I picked it up and the title read, 'The Celestine Prophecy', by James Redfield.

I haven't read any books in awhile. The only reads I've been keeping up on are my magazines, ASA - American Staffing Association, Self, and Psychology Today. After reviewing what the book is about I just had to get it. Instantaneously I thought of what I could learn from this book and that I would pass it along. I'm big on sharing good reads, and this one looks like my next one.

When I researched The Celestine Prophecy online I came across nine insights within the story which are about the sudden coincidences in your life, check them out ~

This book seems very intriguing, I like intriguing. I'm only on the 2nd chapter and ecstatic about the adventurous read. The picture on it's cover has these clouds, which I love...big fan of clouds, with this powerful light coming through them and there are these mountains surrounding a lake, so serene....a place I'd like to be in.

Visiting Jack

This past weekend I went to visit Baby Jack, he is now 2 weeks old! He is so precious, handsome & little....lil' guy! I held him for the very first time, which was an amazing experience. It was awkward at first because I didn't know what to do, I mean I know but when approached with him I was like 'Whoa, how do I do this?!' The last time I held a baby as little as Jack was when my brother was a few days old. I was 8 years old, and more confident and carefree holding babies then. The only other time I held babies that small was when the babies were about 5 months old, and that was five summers ago when I was a pre-school teacher for the 2 & 3 year old Bunnies class.

So anyways, I sat on the couch & Christine just handed him on over to me. Jack hung out for a few minutes in my arms, let one loose, we laughed and Justin picked him up to change him...he did that again later on to Justin, changing time again, too funny!

I got Baby Jack a green polka dotted piggy bank from elegant baby, http://www.elegantbaby.com/ and put some money in the piggy. So glad he didn't have one yet, and that me, his Aunt Kal got him his very first piggy bank! That's big you know...when friends & family visit they'll contribute to Jack's college fund. I also got him a soft plush teddy bear rattle toy, that he smiled & laughed at and this durable, washable bib that will come in handy, washable is great. When I went shopping for him I wanted to get almost everything I saw...babies have the neatest stuff! There are these toys called Baby Whoozit & Tizoo from manhattan toy, http://www.manhattantoy.com/ and they are cool. As soon as I saw them I remembered learning in my Child Psychology class that new babies like colors, different shapes, and noises...These whoozits are noisy toys, appearance wise. I would like to get one for him, or both, I think Jack will like.

I also picked up this little massage booklet that came with massaging oils so mommy & daddy could have some pampering time....they were both saying 'I need a massage' to each other, that was sweet.

Aunt Kal learned alot on her visit to see Baby Jack, and I left when pumping time came up...that's a whole other mechanism that comes in it's own briefcase looking thing....wow, it's all so fascinating, beautiful and just awesome!

Baby Jack

On Saturday, Anna called me around 2:30 in the afternoon to let me know that Jack Matthew has arrived into the world!!! When I picked up the phone I was thinking OMG...because Christine's expected due date was Tuesday, July 11th & he's here, it's just so flippin' awesome!

I went to the hospital and the maternity area is real sweet, the rooms are like that of a hotel. I knocked on Rm #204 & my cup runneth over....just seeing Christine holding her baby boy, I cannot describe what a beautiful moment it was, wanted to capture that very moment on my camera but I was like all over the place, saying hellos, hugging, congratulating, tearing, and laughing. He is so precious, handsome, beautiful, lil' dude with lots of hair that is dark, he has greenish-blueish eyes, little feets, hands, ears, I love him! He was 6 hours old when we met.

Christine & I have been friends since we were 15, and we've been through so many different things growing up all throughout high school, college, boyfriends, friends, our parents' relationship, she is my sista. Here she was, as beautiful as ever with baby Jack in her arms, truly amazing.

And July 8th is Justin's birthday, what an awesome present! He is so good with the baby. He bathed, changed & held him like a pro. I took some pics that I put together in a Shutterfly album, just emailed them and as soon as I pay for my pro account on flickr, via mail, I will post them!!

Welcome to the World Baby Jack ~ Love, Aunt Kal
